Advent
This week, Year 4 led us in their class assembly and we were so proud of them. They were confident, read clearly and sang beautifully. For those of you who were there, we won't be auditioning for the Lurpack butter advert this coming year!
Year 4 were delighted to showcase their learning in History, Geography, RE , English and French and it was wonderful to see the liturgical dance performed so beautifully to express coming from darkness into the light. We were thrilled that Jeremy was able to play the piano for us; he is a talented pianist.
Advent is now upon us and we are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We have lit the first candle on our Advent wreath and our huge Christmas tree is a wonderful symbol of our forthcoming celebration of Christmas.
We will be having our usual Christmas parties, talent show, Sing Off and doing lots of lovely activities over the next few weeks. It will be busy!
On a deeper level, Years 4, 5 and 6 joined together for a Service of Reconciliation and this was a very moving liturgy, which asked us to reflect personally and examine our consciences, a practice that is very important during Advent. This was followed by the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We thank Father Michael and Canon Tony for giving their time to so many pupils who received the Sacrament.
We hope that during Advent, you are all able to take some time to reflect on the year that has gone.
