If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ

Crucial Crew - Friday 1.10.21

Today Year 6 went to St Alban’s Fire Station to take part in “Crucial Crew”, where they learnt essential life skills and how to keep safe during different scenarios they may experience as they get older and begin their transition into secondary school. Pupils moved around in small groups and spoke with different specialists including police officers and fire-fighters. Year 6 had a great morning and learnt so much from the different situations they were exposed to. They picked out potential fire hazards, learnt basic first aid, participated in a role play on how to react if approached by a stranger and discussed how to keep safe near water and on train tracks. Following this, Year 6 received a pack to take away with them to remind them of all their learning from that morning and what to do when out and about and faced with potential danger!
