Tents, Caves and Dens
Welcome back to our class blog.
It has been another busy two weeks! During both weeks we have continued exploring our new topic ‘No Place Like Home’. Last week we explored ‘Unusual Homes’ and this week has been about ‘Tents, Caves and Dens’.
In Literacy last week the children heard the story of the The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch and this week we have read The House That Jack Built. We have used our phonics to practise our sentence writing in order to describe something from the stories.
In Phonics we have been busy practising reading and writing words that we have seen before, and we have been concentrating on our handwriting and letter formation.
In Maths we have continued to practise counting beyond twenty.
Please continue to read with your children regularly at home and sign and date their reading records. Just to remind you that book bags need to be in school every day please. Please return ALL books that you may have at home on Monday 17th of July.
We will send home books and artwork next week.
Thank you for your continued support with your children’s learning.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Miss Day
