The Lonely Lobster

Welcome back to our class blog!

We have had a very exciting two weeks in Reception!

Last week's theme was 'The Rainbow fish' and this week's theme has been 'The Lonely Lobster'.

In Literacy the children have used their phonics to write words and simple sentences based on the stories.

We have continued with our phonics teaching. The children are working hard and grasping the sounds. Please practise with your children at home.

In Maths we have started to explore counting cardinality (understanding the total amount is represented my the number). The children are starting to understand that the last number they say represents the number of objects in the set.

In RE we have started a new topic - Birthdays. The children have discussed what we need for a Birthday and we had a small celebration for Jigsaw Jack. The children made cards and pretend food.

We have ended the week with a marble treat!

Please continue to read with your children at home. Thank you for your continued support with your child's learning.

Please make sure all belongings are clearly named.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
