If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ

Tidy

Welcome back to our class blog.

We are getting closer and closer to the end of the year and the sun has been very kind to us!

Last week our theme was ‘Living Things’. We read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the children wrote sentences - they imagined being living things and creatively wrote about what they could do.

In Maths we began to explore odd and even numbers. We talked about sharing and the children now know that an odd number is one that cannot be shared equally and an even number can. They are able to identify if two numbers are equal or not, aiding their understanding.

In RE the children continued their learning about ‘Friends’. They talked about the ‘friendship circle’ and what they can do to keep it connected.

This week we have explored conservation. In Literacy we have read the story ‘Tidy’ - the children really enjoyed it and were able to explain different parts and could talk about ways to take care of our planet.

In Maths we have continued to explore odd and even numbers and the children have practised sharing groups of objects.

In RE we have consolidated our learning about ‘Friends’ and the children responded well using pictures and sentences.

We had a very exciting drama workshop based on our story ‘Tidy’. The children were encouraged to act out various parts of the story and share their knowledge of the environment.

Our week has finished with a very exciting mystery guest! The children were so excited and enjoyed hearing all about the role she played in construction as a commercial engineer!

We wish you all a wonderful weekend and hopefully the sun will continue to shine!
