St Dominic Catholic Primary

If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ

Welcome to Year 4

Year 4 have had a great start and I am pleased with their attitude to their learning.  They are listening and responding to questions thoughtfully.

In RE, I have been delighted with the "Family" posters that the children have completed for their homework.  They have put time and effort into making their posters interesting and vibrant.

We have had some very productive Maths lessons and the children are recalling their previous learning and applying it to the new topics.  A big well done to you all.

Our topic on animation is proving to be interesting and this week the children made some simple flipbooks to create movement from a static image.  Next week, we hope to make zoetropes which is another form of early animation.

The children are starting to become familiar with the new routines of Year 4.  They must bring their Reading Record and reading book into the classroom everyday as we regularly use them.  We ask that parents sign them each week and we will check them every Thursday.

Issues with pupil logins are being resolved and the children are now using Google Classroom successfully.  Most of the homework will now be issued on this platform and may be submitted in the same way.

It has been a fantastic two weeks in Year 4.  We have made a great start on our learning journey!

Thank you for joining me on our welcome meeting - I am glad that you found it very useful and informative.

Best wishes

Mrs Ward-Tsang
